Congress Raises Debt Limit

(February 20, 2014)  On February 17, President Obama signed legislation to raise the nation’s debt limit and scale back benefit cuts for U.S. military retirees, removing two highly contentious issues ahead of the November elections. The measure likely delays the need for another debt ceiling increase until mid-2015.
