Preventing Fraud, Waste & Abuse - $19.95

As part of the Medicare Part D - Prescription Drug Benefit, CMS released final guidance in April 2006 for compliance guidance to all Medicare Part D Sponsors titled "CMS Prescription Drug Benefit Manual, Chapter 9 - Part D Program to Control Fraud, Waste and Abuse". Section 50.2.3 of the Manual dictates that all Sponsors and their "downstream entities", which include pharmacists and pharmacy workforce members engaged in delivering any Medicare services, receive general and specialized training to prevent fraud, waste and abuse.

• General Training (not for CE Credit) - $19.95

  (Course Length - 30 minutes) The general compliance FWA prevention course is for employees such as associates and cashiers who do not handle or process any plan claims.

• Specialized Training (for CE Credit) - $19.95

  (Course Length - 45 minutes) This is more specific training, for those involved with: filing claims, dispensing drugs, billing and/or coding, and consulting with plan participants. It is approved for 1.0 contact hour of continuing education credit (0.1 CEUs). The ACPE Universal Program Number assigned to this program is 296-206-07-002-H03.
