OGA is pleased to announce a new member benefit - OGA-TV!  These new, online "TV" segments are quick snippets of need-to-know information on a variety of topics ranging from FLSA to OSHA to Customer Service Tips, etc.!  OGA-TV is not to be confused with OGA's new Loss Prevention videos, and can be identified as OGA-TV by the logo on the right.

Here is the first segment of a new communication venue for our members.  The topic is the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).  One of our primary concerns is the increased enforcement by the U.S. Department of Labor especially in the area of the FLSA.  This segment will describe the importance of the proper payment of overtime.  Tune in to OGA-TV's Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) episode.  Thanks for tuning in!

2nd Webisode:  The topic is OSHA. This segment will cover the areas you need to know to show good faith compliance including Right To Know, LockOut/TagOut, general store safety and much more!   View the OGA-TV OSHA episode

3rd Webisode:  The topic is Commercial Activities Tax (CAT).  This “Webisode” reminds us of the hard hit the food industry is taking under the CAT and more importantly the potential danger we are under in having the CAT raised to cover a huge budget deficit next year.  We ask for your help (so that we can help you!) in supplying us with some figures by completing this form and returning it to OGA by January 31, 2011.  View the OGA-TV CAT Tax webisode.

4th Webisode:
This topic is on Workers’ Comp. This segment coverS the importance of using a Third Party Administrator (TPA), all the new options available to employers (in addition to traditional group) and what services should you expect from your TPA.  View the Workers Compensation webisode

5th Webisode:  The Topic is Career Education Reimbursement Program (CERP).  Do you have employees attending classes that could use some financial help?  We have a program that can help!  This segment covers how the Ohio Grocers Foundation’s CERP can benefit your employees, as well as your business, with tuition reimbursement dollars. View the CERP webisode

6th Webisode:  The topic is bad checks.  Unfortunately, we all face this challenge in our businesses; and this webisode primarily deals with the importance of a prevention program - how to manage your risks.  This Webisode will explain how you can control the risk of taking bad checks as well as how to increase your recovery of bad checks.  We thank Jim Karnath, President of CheckCare, for his participation in this webisode.  For more information, contact Jim at (800) 589-4410.  View the Bad Check webisode.
