Parents Who Host, Lose the Most
The Ohio Grocers Foundation has been partnering with Drug-Free Action Alliance (DFAA) for over 10 years to promote Parents Who Host, Lose the Most. This is a statewide awareness initiative, reminding us all that is illegal for adults to provide alcoholic beverages to minors. With prom and graduation season right around the corner, it is important for parents to not only be aware that teen alcohol parties will increase, but that parents play a major role in the choices their children make when it comes to drinking, smoking, or using other drugs. Many parents feel that a “safe” way to handle inevitable underage drinking is by hosting their teenager’s friends at house parties. This in fact, is against the law!
Retailers who sell alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption can help educate customers by posting Parents Who Host, Lose the Most materials.
