Ohio’s Best Bagger Crowned!

On August 10th, thirty-one of Ohio’s best and brightest baggers came to the Kroger Marketplace in Lewis Center, Ohio to compete for the title of OGA’s Best Bagger. Tom Bergman, from Dorothy Lane Markets beat out the rest of the contestants for the number one spot. Tom won $1,100 and a trip to Las Vegas to compete in the national bagging contest, which will be held in conjunction with NGA's annual convention in February, 2010. We are very excited for Tom and the entire Dorothy Lane Markets organization.

We had an impressive number of contestants this year, with at least 9 different companies being represented. The day was filled with OHIO PROUD-themed activities, such as balloon artists, face painting, a 6 foot Velvet Ice Cream sundae built by the OHIO PROUD Team, food demonstrations by the OHIO PROUD Mobile Kitchen, games, picnic themed activities and food for contestants and spectators. Amy McCormick, Lisa Zirger, Meghan Miller, Bernie Anders, and the entire Kroger organization went above and beyond in hosting this competition and everyone participating and observing had a fantastic time. Congratulations to Tom and we wish you the best of luck at the national competition in Las Vegas!
